Mass Effect Survey

Gonna pick and choose some questions about Mass Effect from the Mass Effect 30 day challenge. There's too many and I don't want to do them all. :p But I love the games and this is worth doing! Obviously, there will be spoilers in this, so if you've somehow managed to never play these games, play them now! They are very worth it. There is going to be a lot of words in this. x___x
1| Favourite Game
This seems to be an unpopular opinion, but I really love Mass Effect 3 the most. I love how everything just completely comes together. I love the reuniting of all the characters, having a lot of storylines tied up and the complete emotional disaster of it all. I was on edge the whole time playing it. Yes, the ending is very disappointing but I personally chose to believe the indoctrination Theory so it made the ending better imo.
2| Male or Female Shepard
Female always. Not only because I am a female as well, but I love Jennifer Hale's voice acting, I feel like she makes her come alive. I love the idea of a badass female commander who saves the world. I tried Male Shepard and he's just so bland and his voice actor didn't put much emotion behind him. Women rarely get to be the lead in video games so I will take that chance any time I can.
3| Favorite Class
Honestly, I don't really have a favourite class. I never really went far away from Soldier. I thought it was nice and basic. And I like to pewpew with guns.
4| Renegade or Paragon Shep
Paragon. I tried playing Renegade FemShep and even though she is a hard badass and you're cooler overall, I felt Paragon was much closer to my personality. I liked what it stood for, Renegade being the more hard or violent choice and Paragon still getting the -same- thing done but more diplomatically because you're willing to give everyone a chance. I hate in the third game that they removed the neutral choice. It was very cut black and white and if you didn't do everything perfectly, you will miss out on important interrupts or chances.
5| Favorite Male Companion
Garrus Vakarian. He is just so loyal and smart and funny. I loved seeing him again in Mass Effect 2 and having the chance to romance him. Unfortunately, the romance was a little bit of a dud for me and we returned to being friends in Mass Effect 3.  I just didn't see it romantic enough! So I happened to go for Kaiden. But, I love Garrus because he's so loyal and such a great friend to you throughout the entire series. The final conversation between the two is gut wrenching to me.
6| Favourite Female Companion
Liara T'soni. She is an absolute doll, so cute and sweet. I really love how she is always there for Shepard and always so.. intimate with you. She was basically my best friend in Mass Effect 3. Her growth throughout the series is really apparent. She might seem more cold in the last game but I feel like she really matured. There is a point in Mass Effect 3 when she is making the 'future box' if they don't succeed with the reapers, and the way she talks about your character makes my heart melt. I really felt close to her and she is always my female romance option. She never left my side on missions. Her final conversation with her sharing her memory with me is beautiful.
7| Favourite Romance
It is completely tied with Kaiden and Liara. I love both of their romances. It just depends on if I'm feeling on the gay or straight side that day. Kaiden's romance is absolutely lovely, it has -history- and he's just an all around really romantic guy. He made me swoon a lot~  Liara on the other hand also has that history with you and she is so sweet. Everytime she talked to me in the game, I felt that connection and really ended up loving her character. The goodbye's at the end for both of them is heartbreaking. ;__; I wanted to make cute little asari babies.
8| Least Favourite Romance
Jacob Taylor. He was the first guy you meet in ME2, he was sexy and generically.. good. He had a pretty bland personality and it just seemed he was kind of in it for a bootycall. Compared to Garrus and Thane's romance, it was very lackluster. Also, the biggest killer for me ever romancing him, is that in ME3 no matter what, he will go off with another girl and the relationship will become non existant. No thanks.
9| Least Favourite Companion
James Vega. He was kinda useless and there to me. I never really warmed up to him and didn't really care about talking to him. Sorry. u__u; I really thought he was a romance for gay male Shepard as well, but I was disappointingly wrong.
10| Which Companion would you want to have a Spin-off Game
Javik. I would really love to see how the Protheans lived and their cities and characters. I think it would make a great spinoff or rather, a prologue. I would really like to see the currect races in their infancy.
11| Favourite Antagonist
The Reapers. They are so outerwordly, even for a game revolving around space. They are just so destructive. That they can take over the universe and destroy every living creature because they can. That is absolutely terrifying. The noise they made everytime they shoot their laser always made my skin crawl.
12| Favourite NPC
Captain Anderson. He was always so reliable throughout the whole series and really believed in you. Throughout each game, there he is trying to help you. I really felt he cared about you and that he was some sort of surrogate father. Being there with him at the end of Mass Effect 3 was so heartbreaking but I can't imagine spending those final moments with anyone else. "You did good child. You did good. I'm proud of you."

Honorary mention to Joker.

13| Favourite Alien Species
The Asari. They seem like such a mysterious but elegant and regal race. I love how old they are and how experienced they seem. They have a lot of knowledge about the universe and are all around very.. sensual? There is a captivating aura around all Asari. Thessia, their home planet, is amazing and the fact that they're an all female race is pretty awesome The way the race expands and reproduces is interesting.
14| Favourite Mission
The Suicide mission at the end of Mass Effect 2. It was very epic, very serious, you didn't know if everyone would make it out. You all went in knowing that you would probably not make it through. Going through the Mass Omega Relay and knowing that you can't turn back. It was completely engrossing. I felt SUPER COMMANDER because I had to get everybody through and complete the mission. Then.. at the end when you realize that it was only one reaper and that there were more to come..
15| Best DLC
This will be tied for me between Lair of the Shadow Broker and Overlord.
Overlord was amazing. I really loved how it went all weird matrix style and I really loved the geth so I enjoyed learning more about them. There was such a creepy atmosphere throughout this DLC and the ending just made it perfect.  David just  broke my heart and made me cry so much. Revisiting him in Mass Effect 3 brought out so many happy feels in me.
Lair of the Shadowbroker was also awesome because it showed Liara take a level in badass and finally getting to really see her in ME2  I loved going through her apartment and seeing some of her keepsakes of our time together and her historian background calls out to me. The car chase scene was fun and seeing where the Shadow Broker lived was really cool.

16| Saddest Moment in the Game
Pretty much every time someone died. UGH. The feels.
Mass Effect 3 was just a bucket of feels.

-Mordin killed me. I was just sobbing and I was like nooo please don't,
stop what are you doing. The music. Him singing. I just wanted more time with him.
-Grunt Almost Dying. Oh my fucking god. I was just a mess. I was like, please, don't take more people away from me. I don't know why it was so emotional, he was like this little baby krogan that I needed to protect and when I thought he died I was just bawling. :| When he emerged all bloody and alive at the end, I was so happy.
-Anderson. Nope. Nopenopenope. I was gone into the world of sorrow by this time.
-Thane. Stop. The Prayer. No. Gave me goosebumps and so much feels.
17| Opinions on the Genophage
The reason it happened I can understand, but every playthrough I will cure it. The krogan deserve a chance and seeing how it devastated their race wasn't something I could just stand by on. Mordin sacrificing himself to see it cured really gives me a bittersweet feels. Also, loved the little baby krogan in the end.
18| Favourite Boss Fight
GIANT SKELETOR.
19| Favourite OST Track
An End Once and For All. Brings out so many feels.
20| Destroy, Control, or Synthesis?
I chose Destroy which absolutely broke my heart for Legion, the geth, and EDI. I feel like I was at that ending screen for an hour wondering what I should do. Synthesis sounded amazing but for some reason, I didn't feel like it was the -right- choice. And obviously, wasn't going to go for Control ending because you simply can't control the Reapers. That made you no better than the Illusive man. I was happy to know that there was maybe a sliver of hope that you survived in the Destroy ending. After reading the indoctrination theory however, it made me feel like I made the right choice and choose to believe that is the canon. :|
xx| Overall Opinion of the Mass Effect Trilogy
Honestly, it is amazing. It is so emotional, so real. It really brings you into the game and no other game has completely managed to pull me in the way this series has. The universe is so massive and amazing and the characters are so fleshed out. The writing is funny, serious, heartbreaking. Storywise, it is one of the most amazing games I've played and I can't recommend it enough to anybody.
