S/mileage -> ANGERME
Like many others, the name change was absolutely ridiculous to me, but I was definitely looking forward to the new evolution of this group and definitely looking forward to the third gen. I had become a fan of S/mileage even before their debut when they were just Shugo Chara Egg and Yuuka had been a favourite member since I had seen her in Cinderella/Complex. I had really loved their first singles but since the graduation of Yuuka and Saki and the new 2nd gen, the group had many ups and down. It was hard for me to get into 2nd gen like other fans, but starting with Yattaruchan and all of their singles since, I have really started liking the group and their songs. When it was announced that a new 3rd gen would be coming, I was very excited to see who would be entering the group.
Enter in -> Rikako, Mizuki and Maho
Two popular eggs and one with unknown talent/ability. Like some others, I had been really wanting Rikako to join Momusu instead but now I see her high energy personality really fits in with ANGERME. Both Rikako and Mizuki have quickly climbed up my rankings with their charm and charisma and they seem like really promising members of this new group. I do not know much about Maho but I trust in her potential and think she will grow to be a great member.
Taiki Bansei
When I first saw the concert performance for this song, I was really blown away! There was so much energy just radiating from the performance and Mizuki and Rikako totally blended in with the rest of the members. Then the PV came out and it really wasn't great. I feel they could have done a better job with the concept and tying it all together but oh well, I'm just really glad the song is great.
Otome no Gyakushuu
This is kind of the opposite of Taiki Bansei for me, as I think the PV was pretty well done and fit in with the theme of the song but the song itself doesn't stand out to me. By no means is it bad and I feel it will grow on me but overall, I think this is a really solid single for the newly reborn ANGERME.
I am glad they are #2 on the Oricon and have sold pretty well for their new 'debut' single. I am definitely looking forward to their future releases.
