Series that I have finished in 2015 [Puella Magi Madoka Magica]

Another Magical Girl series that I finished in 2015 was Puella Magi Madoka Magica. This isn't very new but for some reason has escaped my radar these past couple of years. I have not really kept up with any new anime series in general but I have seen Kyubey, the little white creature, in several pictures and gifs. I decided to give it a try after looking for a new Magical Girl anime to watch after I finished Sailor Moon. At first, I thought the series was trying to be too over the top gritty and dark with the action sequences being a little weird and honestly, it took a long time for the anime to hit it's stride for me. I wasn't too emotionally invested in any of the characters, especially Homura and Madoka herself. The only characters I felt any attachment to was Mami and Kyoko. I kept up with it though since the series itself was only 12 episodes long and I may as well finish it.

For me, episode 10 was when it all changed. That episode really opened my eyes to the characters and made me especially love Homura and Madoka. To me, from then on the series become much more emotionally invested for me and it was very hard to hold onto my tears in the final episode. My only issue is that it took so long for the series to progress to the point of where I finally started to care. Even in the end, I did not care for Sayaka's character much and I felt like much of the middle of the series focused on her. The biggest plus to this series is that the music in the show was really great and fit the theme of the show very well.

In the end, I really did enjoy this series and I think rewatching it with all the knowledge you get from the end may be interesting, but I do not think I'll rewatch it anytime soon. I know there is a movie sequel that I will watch soon.
