Favourite Monster High Dolls [2010]

Thought I'd do this for fun and list my favourite Monster High dolls from each year. It doesn't necessarily mean I own all of these dolls, but they're the ones that I think are the bee's knees and that I would like to own if I could. I'll do it by yearly order so it isn't just a massive list. These will only be in the order of release and not in order of preference because that is just way too hard.

Basic Draculaura
(I own the Original Favourites Rerelease)

I love this doll because of her pseudo-victorian look and I just love her colour scheme because I just really fancy the black/pink combo. I love her parasol (though it is non functioning) and her adorable pet Count Fabulous. Just from looking at her, she's definitely a cute character with her pigtails and the heart on her cheek. Overall, she's a solid doll and a really great Signature for her character.

Basic Lagoona Blue
(I own the original Signature and Rerelease)

I own the original version of this doll that I got off of Craigslist that I'm pretty sure is complete. Though current Lagoona dolls don't do much to "Wow" me, I do really like her Signature release. She has a sporty look and I love that her bag is a fishbowl with her pet Neptuna in it. I think this is also a great starting doll for the character and really sets up how her personality is.

Black and White Frankie Stein
(Do not own)

I chose this one over her original Basic because I think this one is more interesting. It pays a definite homage to her Frankenstein origins and I think it was a really neat idea for this original exclusive doll. I own her original Basic and the Original Favourites version of her but this one continues to be my favourite of the bunch.

Dawn of the Dance Clawdeen Wolf
(Do not own)

Only three Dawn of the Dance ghouls came out in 2010 but this one remains my favourite of the three because this was the first doll with outrageously coloured hair (I mean, look at how lime green it is!) This was the first doll to showcase one of many of Clawdeen's bright and vibrant hair colours and I absolutely love it. I love her green/purple colour scheme that would become some of her signature colours and I think this is a fantastic doll.

Basic Ghoulia Yelps
(Own the rerelease)

My last pick for this year goes to Ghoulia Yelps, this cute and retro zombie chick. She has a punk vibe to her that is definitely cool down to her shoes and her bag. I love her cute 50's shades and her owl Sir Hoots a Lot. Overall, she is definitely a solid doll and a great starter for the dolls to come after the original Ghouls. I bought the original Ghoulia at a garage sale and own various pieces of her stock and her owl but she's not complete. I hope to get the Original Favourites pack with her in it so I can have a complete Ghoulia!

Anyways, these are my choices for the year 2010! Not many dolls came out this year but it was a solid start to this franchise with all of the dolls having a cool and unique aspect to them. I didn't become a fan until about 4 years later so I wasn't there for the beginning of the Monster High craze so I don't know what toy hunting was like back then. I was also still living in Canada at the time and I don't recall if they were as popular or if they came out at the same time. I actually never saw them at the store (to be fair, I wasn't looking for them.) But, it's always fun to go back and look at these rare and interesting dolls.
