I finished playing The Walking Dead game about a week ago and wanted to share my thoughts and choices~
Since the results are very spoiler-y, I put them under a cut.
Overall, I went into this game semi knowing some big spoilers but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I was also really shocked during some moments and this game really made me quite emotional.
Overall, I highly highly recommend it, especially to fans of point and click, a good story or just zombies.
Of course, also.. fans of the series itself.
I really was fond of most of the characters,
especially little Clementine and Lee himself.
Each episode was a roller coaster of emotions,
but I managed to push through it and beat it all in two days.
I really can't have imagined waiting months in between,
so I feel lucky that I was able to play it all at once!
And also be hit in the emotions fairly quickly as well...
Well... onto my choices and semi review of the episodes~
In each post I'll review one each...

Episode 1: A New Day
I'll just kinda go by my choices one by one to jog my memory of what happened..
The very beginning of this chapter really freaked me out. I am a huge wuss when it comes to games and I get incredibly scared but I consider myself lucky to get such a rush from it. :p I was sad that the man driver at the beginning died but I also didn't realize that my responses would be timed. In the end, I realize that you could stay silent and have no repercussions but I didn't realize that in my whole playthrough so I was really anxious to finish all my questions quickly. Anyways.. the "WATCH OUT!" ect ect response was very sudden and gave me a jump. Also.. the obvious jumpscare when you grab the keys off the man after you crash really got me as well.. I ended up dying quickly. Ah. u__u~~
Then this creepy part happens after I go into the house
and then I meet Clementine....
And then she saves me~
Anyways, after that scene, we meet Hershel's son and this is where the show sort of connects since he brings us to the farm.. I will take note that the Hershel in the game looked and sounded nothing like the Hershel in the show which kind of threw me off. Anyways, meeting Kenny, Katjaa and Duck was interesting and I was really fond of Duck though I think most were annoyed by him. He was just especially Derpy.
When it comes to my first choice, I didn't even realize I lied to Hershel. I think the timed questions were still bugging me a little and I was getting used to it so I rushed to click anything. When he called me in the barn extremely angry, I was like, what did I do??? He was so mean to me x__x~
Anyways... the first really intense part of the game was the choosing life and death for some characters. Since I didn't know the outcome for the game, choosing between Duck and Shawn was incredibly difficult as time just went by really quickly and I didn't have a good grasp on the situation. I ended up choosing Duck and Shawn gruesomely died which (rightfully) pissed off Hershel. In the end, I realize that even if I saved Shawn, he still would have died and Duck would have still lived so it didn't make much difference in the end. I guess it made Kenny like me a bit more...
Anyways... we end up in the convenience store and meet all the new characters and immediately there was a fight between Kenny and Larry. Oh Larry.. such an asshole. I sided with Kenny because I didn't want anything bad to happen to Duck and then Larry got all weak and I had to get him medicines. u__u~ We also meet Glenn from the show which is a nice little tie-in.
Er... lots of stuff happens in the convenience store but the only noteworthy stuff is that Clementine gets attacked while in the convenience store and I have to rescue her quickly. Also.. you find out the store belongs to Lee's parents (unless you figure that out earlier and I missed it) so that is a little sad... Also, it provides a little backstory about Lee's past with Carley bringing up what she knows about you.
My timing is now a little off because I don't remember specifically why we went to the hotel area where Glenn found his lady friend whom he wanted to save. It led to the next choice however, which revealed she had been bitten and wanted to commit suicide. It's a hard and delicate choice to make.. but I ended up giving her the gun so she could end her life as she pleased. Glenn was obviously disappointed in me but I just wanted to make the girl happy in her last moments and not suffer.
Then comes the whole convenient store debacle where I need to get the key to open the pharmacy for Larry u__u~~ It's where I meet Doug who helps me at the gate and he seems like a neat guy albeit kind of boring. It was sad seeing Lee's brother and Lee putting him out of his (zombie) misery. Hell, the whole store being his parents was depressing and finding their bodies.. Has to be a tough thing to take in. In the end, we got the keys but the alarm went off and set off the chaos to come....
The end scene was very chaotic and I honestly didn't expect them to make me choose between two people in the same episode again but here we were.... I ended up choosing Carley because Doug didn't make too much of an impression on me and I thought she'd be useful to my zombie team. The fact that Carley liked Doug was a little sad though.. watching his die was not fun.
Anyways, the part that really was making me yell was Larry! What the hell!
He just knocks me out and leaves me for dead! Ohhh, I was furious. I wanted to leave Larry behind and let him get eaten because who does that?? Anyways... my good ol' friend Kenny saves the day and we end up at the same motel, with the "everything seems like it'll be okay" speech from Lilly and then the lights go out...
Overall, it was a great starting episode that really set up the pace and tone of the series.
I was really excited and eager to see how it would end up!
I'm really not great at reviewing things so I hope whoever reads this enjoys it enough~
