The Walking Dead Game : Episode Two

Onto the next episode of the game~~
This was a really long chapter to me
but I still really enjoyed it~

Anyways, under the cut to avoid spoilers!

Episode Two : Starved for Help

Episode 2 kind of took me off guard because a lot of time had passed by which I had not expected. There was also an entirely new character accompanying me called "Mark" whom I correctly guessed at the beginning would not last long.. He seemed like an a-okay guy as well.

Anyways, we end up meeting a group of high school aged boys.. and boy, I would've never guessed that Ben would remain with me until the end. Chopping the leg off of his teacher was an incredibly cringey moment though and I left it 'til the end until I was pretty much forced to do it. Seeing Ben's dumb little friend get left behind and eaten was dumb. Why didn't he just ruuuun?

Back at the camp, we realize that things are fairly hostile between Kenny and Lilly and there's some power trips going on. I try to end up neutral through it all since Lilly wants to do what's best for everyone but Kenny seems to only want to do what's best for his family. In the end, Lilly puts me in charge of rations which I end up handing out to Clementine, Duck, Carley and I tried Katjaa but she was busy tending to the legless man's.. stumps. Thus, I ended up giving it to Mark since he was my new best friend.

Then, these two incredibly sketchy dudes come by and ask us for fuel... Oh, they seemed very, very sketchy. I didn't trust them one bit. I knew this episode spelled bad news. I agreed to go over there since everyone else in my team is starving and there's no other choice really...

Right when we end up at the farm and see their biscuits made by the sketchy mother. I assume they're cannibals right away. I also never assume anything right and I'm going to assume it was incredibly obvious because I could just see their human eating grins very, very well.... Also, poor Mark. He thought it was amazing and too good to be true and we'll soon see how he ended up.....

Anyways, we end up having to check the perimeters to "earn our dinner" and end up being attacked by bandits. Of course, the sketchy farm dudes turn on the fence to let us be killed. I was like, oh great. Mark ends up getting shot in the shoulder and once we get back to the farm, they tend his wounds. Also, the rest of my posse shows up as well and thinks "gee golly, this place is amazing!" Finally.. Lilly, I believe? Says that it seems too good to be true. Larry, again, is an asshole who thinks it's amazing. Of course. I thought, if he thinks it's amazing, it surely has to be terrible.

Then the extra creepy brother wants us to check out some bandit camps where we come upon our second major decision which is Jolene. Ah.. coming across that camp, I knew something especially creepy was coming up. I reaaally didn't want to be alone with this guy. I immediately knew something was wrong when looking in the tent and seeing the child sleeping bag and the picture... as well as Clementines stolen hat. When she shows up, all crazy and deranged and says how evil he is, I get very very suspicious. When he unexpectedly shot her, it shocked me. It was actually quite sad as she went off the deep end at the death of her daughter....

At this point, I know I'm forced to play on but I know something very, very bad is happening. I explore the camp a bit and go into the barn which trigger adorable dialogue with Clementine. The salt lick dialogue where she says it's nasty and you ask her, if she licked it and with a pause she goes "maybe." Ahh, so cute! Kenny is very suspicious of a locked portion of the barn and as I explore, one of the areas has a place filled with bloody clothes... oh.... well I see where this is going. x__x

I break the generator keeping the electric link going on the fence so I can get the other brother out and end up picking the lock to see what's in the back of the barn.. and naturally it's a slaughter house for their human victims. Ugh. At this point, it's dinner time! Yippeee..........

I notice that Mark is nowhere to be seen... Oh no. My Lee naturally investigates the house and I know at this point I'm going to find something disturbing. Thus... the hidden room behind the bookshelf and lo and behold Mark... with his legs completely missing. Shit. I felt so bad for the guy. He thought this place would be an amazing safe haven and even though he got shot in the shoulder, it didn't look too serious. And now... his legs were gone. What the fuck.

I run down the stairs and stop Clementine from eating that food. Larry is a jackass, naturally and tells me to stop making a scene. I told Larry to eat that shit up, lol. Only time I could feel revenge but afterwards I still felt like shit.... I don't exactly remember the order of events but the creepy guy grabs Clementine which immediately freaks me out and then all of a sudden Mark drags himself down the stairs with his legs missing and moaning in pain.. Jesus. This is fucked up. The family knocks me out and throws us all into the slaughter backroom with the exception of Katjaa and Duck.

Larry is incredibly frantic and starts pounding the door but he ends up having a heart attack and Lilly is trying to bring him back to life. Kenny starts freaking out about how he will come back as a zombie but I try to reason that he's not dead and this is murder. I try to perform CPR on him and in a moment of shock, Kenny drops the goddamn salt lick on his head as I'm doing it. Talk about unexpectedly gruesome... All of Lilly's dad's remains are on her face and all I can do is stare in disbelief of the situation. What the fuck, Kenny? After that.. me and Kenny weren't the best of bro's anymore. I felt especially bad for Lilly. Even though Larry was an asshole, I thought Kenny's reaction was a little over the top.

Little Clementine manages to free us from the room after stealing Larry's coins while we end up overhearing how they're going to butcher us and sell us off as meat. Well, then. Me and Kenny investigate the creepy slaughter room and head out to gtfo this place. We end up hiding in the barn and a really creepy, unexpected moment happens when I peek out and one of the brothers has a barrel of a gun in my face. ;__; It really scared me..... Kenny naturally now doesn't have my back and Lilly comes in and stabs him. Danny (Hey, I remembered his name) is now acting all crazy by telling us not to kill him because the meat on him will go rotten and we can't eat him. Man... this episode is just full of what the fuck. But I do something that I did regret later which is I did kill him. In front of Clementine. ;__; I think I just didn't want to give him the satisfaction of being eaten because I think he really wanted it. Weirdo.

After we escape the barn, I run into Carley who is totally out of the loop and I tell her shit's crazy, Mark got eaten and that we need to go. But of course, save Katjaa and Duck first. At this point, I was wondering what they had done with them. I sneak into the house, with the thunder and rainstorm in the background providing the ambience. The mother is holding Katjaa and is threatening to kill her. Oh great. At this point, I keep messing up the game and end up getting shot by her because of my small movements. After the xxth time, I finally manage to get her back enough to get bit by Mark. Poor guy. Now he's a zombie. It all comes full circle now. You eat people. People eat you.

Basically, now a big showdown between Lee and the remaining brother happens and he tries to stick my face into the electric fence. I ended up failing this the first time around so it was a little unnerving to see my face get electrocuted. This episode kind of had me on the edge. Lilly, again, has my back and shoots the fucker off of me. I punch the hell out of him but I stop because I don't want a repeat of the other brother. This seems to anger him and he starts calling out about how his brother and mother are going to get us... I tell him that they're gone and he just falls out. It was actually quite sad. But then I remember he tried to eat us and I wasn't so sad anymore. Leaving him behind as the whole farm fell apart was oddly satisfying. Then I thought, dammit. Such a decent place and now it can't be used anymore.

In the conclusion, there ends up being an 'abandoned' care where there is loads of crap in it such as supplies and food. Though it is really dandy, it is too good to be true. I was in the camp where I decided not to want to take the supplies because Clementine told me it wasn't ours. Everyone else jumped on it though so I guess it was hopeless. There is a hoodie in the trunk which Katjaa offers to Clementine but she doesn't want it so I don't force her to take it. Carley finds batteries for the video camera I find at Jolene's camp and we watch it and it is .. fairly disturbing. Just a weird creepy camera shot of her zooming in on Clementine and saying that the bandits are the ones we should be most afraid of and not zombies.

Creepy~~~

In the end, this episode revolved mainly around the farm.
It was pretty interesting and even though it was predictable, it was fun to play and experience.
There was not much of a cliffhanger at the end of the episode,
so I didn't know what to really expect for the next one~
The preview was about the bandits though....

Anyways~ Third episode review will come soon.
