Let me preface by saying that I am incredibly disappointed in this bag. :(
I think some may be really happy with the variety and perhaps I may have been as well if any of this stuff suited me. This makes me believe the beauty profile doesn't work at all. I don't really like the bag print either and literally nothing in this bag is suited towards me except perhaps the concealer. Thankfully, they at least got a semblance to my skin colour. Everything else is no good though. :(
I got, in my opinion, the ugliest colour of nail polish. I really don't like this shimmery mustard-like yellow and I would've been happy to receive any of the other cute pastels. I also got a bright red lipliner which I completely don't understand. I put my beauty profile towards a neutral/earthy look. ???
I also got the juice beauty gloss which I really wanted in Champagne but I ended up with "Fig" which is a weird dark brownish colour that, again, does not suit me at all.
Possibly the worst offender in this bag though is the Pacifica Bronzing Lotion. I stated in my profile that I am fair and that I had no interest in self tanning. Why, oh, why did I end up with a bronzing lotion? I tried to think very optimistically and think that maybe it is a golden shimmer lotion, but nope, it is a bronzer that turns your skin a few shades darker. I am a very pale girl who has no interest in tanning so this is absolutely worthless to me. I just don't get how I ended up with this product. Thus, making me believe that beauty profiles don't mean anything or maybe I am the dud person.
The worst part about the variety is that I'm jealous of other people's bags. I'm sure there are people out there who may have wanted my bag, but I can't help but feel envious of the people who got the luminizing lotion instead of the bronzer. Any of the other colours of the nail polish. People who received the oils and the roll on perfumes. I don't get why I got stuck with a red lip liner and bronzer that I will probably never use.
Ah well.. this is the most disappointing month of ipsy since I have signed up. If you look through my tags, you'll see that I've given all of the other months pretty glowing reviews despite maybe not loving everything in the package. This one is an absolute zero for me, not only because these are products that I really won't end up using but because they sent me things so radically different than what was stated in my user profile.
I'd give this bag an F. :(
Sad too, I would guess some people would give this month an A+.
Perhaps if we ended up with the things we wanted but alas, it was a gamble this month.
