The idea of going to a place to rent a hot tub sounds really odd. .
But it was actually pretty amazing ! My boyfriend happened to surprise me yesterday morning for our anniversary and took me to this place. They have different themed rooms that you can rent out for an hour, hour and a half and two hours. The prices can really range between each day but since it was a friday morning it was only 22$. It's pretty pricey but I think they have sales quite often. I also think this actual brand of place is Michigan only with locations also in Grand Rapids and Ann Harbor. It was a really nicely decorated place. The lounge inside was classy and it smelled somewhat chlorinated. The person up front showed all the available rooms and I happened to pick the "Mayan" themed room. It was really large and the tub was huge. There was also a fireplace right besides us and some rooms even have little waterfalls. Attached the the rooms was a shower room with towels and chocolate mints laid out for you. There was also satellite radio or a cord where you could hook your own stuff up. There was also a shower where you are supposed to shower before and after. The soap wasn't great so I think I would bring my own next time. I am also surprised by how clean everything is. They say they completely circulate the water every 8 minutes and each tub is hand scrubbed every day. The place all around seems quite professional and on top of things. It was almost like renting a little hotel room to relax for an hour. No drink or food allowed at all, for hygiene sake. You can bring a bottle of water. I'll keep that in mind next time.
I think maybe the worst part was the very small time space of where you have to run just from the shower into the hot tub. Since it's outside and snowing and very cold, I was ready to just hop in there. The water is very hot but it's nice ! You can call the front staff if you'd like to adjust the temperature. The tub was so incredibly spacious, I could swim around it. It's 3ft deep so it was the perfect size for me. There were also lots of jets that felt like it made it so much hotter when you turned it on. It started snowing so it looked absolutely lovely outside ! I thought it may be awful in the summer considering how hot it is. I could have probably stayed in for hours because of how nice it felt. I did end up getting dizzy though because you are sitting in a constant 100something degree environment. It made getting out and standing in the winter snowy weather feel very nice. On their website, it also says they are open during rain and thunderstorms. That type of environment sounds amazing . It is also open until 1-2am in the morning so I'm guessing it is really beautiful at night ! There are apparently lights and you can gaze up at the stars and everything.♥
Overall, it was a simplistic but an extremely relaxing change of atmosphere. It was quite romantic too. I think for Valentines day they must have been packed. It's a really nice place if you want to soak outside in the wintertime with that special person. I can't wait to go back one day soon !
